Frequently asked
Do I need to be a vet?
No — we also certify experienced riding instructors, trainers, and equine physiotherapists with the right credentials. The key is proven expertise with sport horses and professional references.
How many reports can I expect per month?
It depends on your region and the time of year. In active regions (NL, BE, DE), inspectors receive 2–6 requests per month at launch, growing as the platform scales. You can always decline a request if you are unavailable.
Who pays for travel?
You do — but you set your own travel radius so you only accept assignments within a distance you find acceptable. For assignments over 100km, you can add a travel supplement (agreed with the buyer before the inspection).
What if I find something serious during the inspection?
You report what you observe, factually and professionally. Your role is to document, not to advise the buyer whether to purchase. Buyers use your report alongside their own vet's pre-purchase examination.
Is there liability insurance?
HorseStox carries platform liability insurance. We recommend inspectors carry their own professional indemnity insurance — we can recommend providers.
Can I do this alongside my existing work?
Absolutely. Most inspectors work part-time alongside their main equine career. You set your own availability — accept only what fits your schedule.
